Safe Travel Today • Secure Tomorrow is a national safety-awareness and responsible-mobility campaign of RailVidya – Children’s Railway and Metro Safety Education Programme, the educational wing of the All India Rail Safety Council (AIRSC). The campaign seeks to develop a strong culture of alertness, discipline and responsible behaviour among children, students, families and communities while travelling by railway, metro rail, road and other forms of public transport. It promotes the vital message that every safe decision made today protects precious lives and contributes to a more secure tomorrow.
Safe travel begins with awareness. Children and young people must learn to recognise risks, follow authorised instructions and make careful decisions at railway stations, metro premises, platforms, level crossings, roads, bus stops and other public-transport locations. Remaining behind platform safety lines, using foot overbridges and authorised crossings, allowing passengers to exit before boarding, avoiding running or pushing, staying away from restricted areas and remaining attentive near moving vehicles are simple actions that can prevent serious accidents.
The campaign encourages students to become responsible travellers and positive safety ambassadors within their families, schools and communities. By sharing accurate safety messages, reminding others to respect rules and demonstrating disciplined conduct during every journey, young people can influence the behaviour of those around them. One alert student can inspire a family, one responsible family can influence a community, and one safety-conscious community can help protect an entire nation.

Responsible passengers offer assistance to children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, respect reserved seats and accessible facilities, protect public property, maintain cleanliness and cooperate with transport and security personnel.
